1800 meter swim + 500 time trial

Here is the swim workout for today - 1800 total meters including a 500 meter time trial. The time trial was to establish a baseline of the total time (for me it was 10:51) for 500 meters…

Warm up
- 2×100 swim

Main Set
- 1×50 swim
- 1×50 kick (with board)
- 1×150 pull
- 1×200 swim
- 1×150 pull
- 1×50 kick (with board)
- 1×50 swim

Drill
- 4×50 swim descend (1-4 seconds each 50)

Time Trial
- 1×500 time trial

Cool Down- 1×200 Swim

[...] Our swim can be found on Mitch’s blog. My time trial for 500 was 9:07 = 1:49/100yd*. (* = used pull buoy). Felt really good this morning, except when I kick…I don’t kick, so when the workout calls for “swimming” it’s actually hard for me, (I usually use a pull buoy, which means I don’t kick, legs just float). And then, to top it all off, the workout called for “Kick 100 no board”…which, we changed up to “kick 50 with board”. I think I need to work up to kicking without pulling and not using a kick board. [...]

Woo wee! That looks like some serious work there.
